Portfolio / Blog

This website was from the beginning meant to be my portfolio. Though lately, it went from that to a distrubution of free sound effects and so that I had made.
I’ve decided to focus more on it being my portfolio and workspace\blog. The new area called Demos, is the first step towards a better portfolio and it’s an area where my audio demos are put, from voices to radio mixes.

I am still putting together everything for it and it will be pretty huge once I get there. As of now, the voice over I did for the video game Heroes of Newerth, is up to listen to and a radio ad for Animenfo radio.

I got various people contacting me asking about the links to various sound mods I’ve done.
These links are down for good as I intend to no longer make sound packages directly for free. I will however make bigger sound packages that you can buy and there will of course be some free samples you can download.
The music page will be updated soon with links fixed and new tracks.

Have a good summer holiday!

Wow 2010 began really great. I got lots of fun and entertaining sound jobs in movies and radio.
And not to forget, video games.

I did voice overs for two characters in a game called Heroes Of Newerth.
The first and now also in the actual Beta of the game is the engineer.
He was a fun character to try and do the voice for.
Had to imagine what it would feel like to be constantly drunk and put that into a voice.

Here’s a concept art of the fuzzy guy with a voice demo I put together:

Engineer

The other character I will talk about when he is out in the beta.
I might do a third one as well, cross your fingers and toes!

Other than that, I’ve also done some sound work for radio commercials, here’s one of them that air on Animenfo.com/radio

Radio Ad:

When it comes down to it, my sound work in movies been quite busy as well. Most of these films are not released in any forms for me to showcase it without getting in trouble with the respectful companies.
Wait awhile and you’ll see them here eventually.

If by any chance you wanna become a fan of this website’ portfolio and have a chat with me on facebook, you can do that here. It’s a good place for me to see what the majority wants me to create for sound packages.
Should you want to follow up on what I work on and get the latest stalker insight, there is always my twitter.

Just recently, I released a sound package which is part of the sound library I am creating which is all royalty free. It is a part I call the grimoire of scrap. I also time to time do stuff pro bono and when I do, I always intend to give out what I create for free. Even though majority of the sound work I did in 2009 are lost forever, there are still some I was able to put into the sound package for people to use.

Here is the Demo for the sound package:

You can get it from this post here.

That is all for now, until next time. /echo out

New era of Soundwizardry

Yippi! Soundwizardry.com is a year old and is still going strong as ever!

To celebrate the anniversary, there are some new stuff up on the website:

Sound Room

The sound room - is a room that works as an archive of various audio elements I’ve worked on.
Right now, as I’m writing this, only music been added there, but I plan to have voices, sound packages and audio dramas as well. Take a look, or I should say, take a listen :)

Contact

Though not a new page, its been updated. All the junk is gone and only the most important things are up there.
But I’ve also added a way for you to contact me directly (if I’m online and available that is) should there be anything you would like to ask me. I do however suggest emailing me instead - if there is a job proposal.

Now, in the absence of all these cool updates, I’ve been added to imdb as well which was a pleasant surprise.
I’ve done lots of voices recently for many upcoming projects, and hope to have them viewable for all of you.
Recently voiced for Ian Beckman’s ASV7, it was great fun with enthusiastic direction.
Currently busy with composing for Olibith’s new machinima, making an upcoming audio drama and developing new sound packages.
I am also working on a sound design demo reel of the recent work from MGS:Philanthropy. I hope to finish the editing of it soon.

That’s it for me this time, I hope to see you around my website time and time again, and hope for another great year, for the both of us :).

Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy audio post-pro DONE!

Today, we finished the last bits and pieces for the audio work of Metal Gear solid: Philanthropy, the non-budget fan movie.

Three years of overall production time has come to a close.  It was both challenging and great fun from beginning to end.

It has been a privilege to have worked on a movie with so much love for its lore and its fundamental characters.
A great movie for fans by fans; hailing visual characteristics of the franchise to music and sound design.

At 27th September, you will be able to download the movie for free at www.mgs-philanthropy.net
Also, Hive division are looking for subbers for the movie, you can go Here for any further information about subbing for them.

You will of course be able to watch the movie from my website once it is released.
Also, look for a sound design demo reel for some of the audio that was produced for the movie.

At the end here, I would like to thank Hybrid Two for bringing me along in such an epic journey for a movie about a game that is so close to my heart.
Thank you Aaron Frensley and Daniel James.

And of course, thank you all in Hive Division.

The movie is done filming and a beta footage arrived which I took a look at.
It is a well worth the long wait, as it is very rewarding towards fans of MGS’ games.

I also got an estimate on the numbers of sounds I would have to design for the movie as well as the foley which needs recorded.

Considering the fact that the sound spotting has not taken place yet. I am not 100% sure what my part will be, as Aaron Frensley (also a member of Hybrid Two) will be working with me on the audio work. But since I had the opportunity, I went and recorded impact sounds and cloth foley at a junkyard. I also went recently in an auto repair shop close by, and recorded the sounds of machinery.

Now I have to say the movie is a little cheesy, but I love it and am so very much looking forward to start messing with it when i got the final footage and the Sound Spotting has happened.

Hello!

I’ve recently been working on a new sound package release that will carry guns, bows, swords, axe, whooshes and some additional sounds,
These sounds are useful for people who needs royalty free sounds to use  in their movies, but they are made specifically to replace the sounds in the MMO World Of Warcraft.

The progress so far:

1 Handed Sword: 100% Complete
2 Handed Sword: 100% Complete
1 Handed Ax: 0% Complete
2 Handed Ax: 0% Complete
Bow: 100% Complete
Gun: 40% Complete
Whooshes: 100% Complete
Additional Random Sounds: 70% Complete

When the package is complete there will be a video to show them ingame.

News - December

Hello everyone!

I thought about writing a news update of my recent endeavors within the audio domain.
I’ve been working on sound design, acting and musical composition for Firebolt productions upcoming X-mas machinima contest movie.

Being commissioned(paid) to do the audio work, I prioritized it.
I think it went quite well.
Check back here at the 25th for a link to both music and video.

I am also working on a sound design for a movie by Baronsoosdon.
It will be a little different than what you are used to and it is for me.
I don’t normally approve on sound designing movies that is meant to be more musical than anything else.
But I accepted and it looks amazing.

I also voiced for a machinima by Mushanga which was well done(it was also for the wegame contest).
You can find it added recently in the video category section, go and have a look :)

I helped a friend out with lip syncing by providing a voice for a dragon like creature, you can find the lip sync HERE.

The new audio tutorial is going to be recorded after new years and released probably by the end of January.
Next sound package is also being worked on, stingers and reverse stinger sounds. (laymen of stingers: Sudden loud sounds; horror movies use it all the time to make you jump in your seat.)
As well as a followup package for Left 4 Dead.

That’s all for December, I’m going away now for recording sessions in the capital city of Northrend , back to celebrate Christmas with the one that matters most :)
